Family Picture, Skittles included!

Little Jake was not interested in having his picture taken, but Skittles were a motivating factor. Guess where the Skittles are hiding. You guessed it. Peters shirt pocket was a sweet spot.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

So, this is our Family portrait. Doing this with a timer and a 18 month old doesn't work out very well, so we had to get creative. How do you like it?

Good thing we got the picts before he banged his eye with a rock, and scratched his nose falling. Good thing. . .

Halloween

Can't believe that Halloween has come and gone!

lil Jake was Bam Bam. So, cute. It was the same costume as he had for the Orem Summerfest Baby Contest that he did not win.

He is so smart. He puts his clothes away, puts the silverware away, and puts his animals in their home. I got him a Noah's Ark set for Christmas. It is a pretty good sized wooden ark that included animals. Yes, I am letting him play with them now. . . he just loves to play with them so much I think I'll just wrap it up a few days before Christmas so it will be a surprise again! :) Don't other people do that?

Anyways, I told him that the animals needed to go home (be put away) and he collected them and put them in the arc! The next day he did it all by himself! Amazing.

About the silverware. . . he brought me a butter knife and wanted to show me what he was doing. The dishwasher was open so I thought they would be all over the floor, but to my surprise he actually was putting the silverware away in the right drawer! Is this a good kid or what?

Yes, I do try to supervise the process now, but still!

He does make his fair share of messes, but these little things just make being a mom nice once in awhile.

Here is a video of lil' Jake's animal noises. He has also learned snake, bee, and a few more I can't remember right now.

Also, when we ask him to say Dad, or mom he says papa. It kinda sounds like baba.

Minot Visit

Little Jake loved Heather and Ryan's new baby Caleb. Jake always wanted to touch his fingers and toes and hair. He got jealous when his mom held Caleb. Jake had to sit on mom's lap whenever she held Caleb. So funny to see his reaction to he new baby.

This is were Gram Kennedy grew up. This home is just a few blocks from where Heather lives now.

Little Caleb's toes. He was sunning by the window to help his jaundice.

Heather, David, Ryan and Caleb. This was the first indication from David that Caleb even existed! The last minutes of our visit and he finally touched his brothers finger. It was intersting to see how David and lil' Jake reacted to the new addition, Caleb.

This will help you keep up to date on the cute, amazing, funny, inspiring things we, but mostly lil' Jake does on a daily basis.
Lil' Jake is 16 months old. He already knows the noise for:
Dog
Cat
monkey
(scratches his underarms!)
lion
fish
(licks his lips over and over again)!
cow
bird
tiger bear
owl
snake
rabbit
(smacks his lips)&
duck

He knows the sign for:

Milk
more
please
(smiles and ahhh's with the sign)
thank you(squishes his face into all kinds of contortions by putting his hand over his mouth, nose, and eyes!)

And his trademarks include, but are not limited to the following:

long hair
green blankie(the other day he was wrapped up in Mary's light green fleece jacket and so he didn't realize it until he was walking with the jacket in one hand and sucking his other thumb that he saw me. I was holding his blankie! He looked at the jacket, looked at his blankie, looked at the jacket; dropped it, and ran to get his blankie! IT was such a cute Double take moment.
