Our smart guy

#1 Peter and I were having a discussion that we did not agree on and little Jake came up and said "Be nice guys!" as he was pointing his finger at us. "Be nice! Be friends!" was his next admonition.! He is growing up too fast! It was soooo funny.
Then, later on Peter and I were hugging and kissing and Jake told us "no fighting!" we told him that we were making up so he said "no making up!"

#2 Peter and Jake were playing with swords, and other weapons of war. So, Peter wanted to stop playing and told Jake the story of Anti-Nephi Lehi's and threw down his sword. Jake returned with, "Great story dad." and handed Peter his sword back!

He is too smart for his own good.

Family Pictures

Tonight was the Geneva Heights 8th Ward Christmas Around the World Party. Peter put together a poster of information on how the English celebrate Christmas. We brought home some left over pie, butter and ham. Jacob had fun running and playing for a few hours. He ate all of his roll, some lettuce, jell-o, and topped it off with cherry pie.
He also kept saying that he needed to go to the potty which is funny because he hasn't had interest in potty training. I should mention that yesterday his Aunt Emilie had him sit on the potty AND put on his Wall-E underwear. He made it all the way to Grandma Winterfeldt's house and was dry for some time before he wet himself though. One step at a time. I'm not rushing it.

Refashioning my old clothes

This one is a mission suit....don't count how many years ago that was. I am shortening the skirt, just have to figure out how to do a blind hem now. I have done it before but have to remember how to do it again. The jacket I will add some embelishments to it. I plan to add ruffle to the pockets and a flower brooch pinned to the lapel. The sleeves I have gathered...not quite sure if that is how it is going to stay but what's done is done. So, it will probably stay that way until I decide on something else. Wish me luck.

Little Stinker

Up to the point that I got the camera out Jake kept saying over and over, "I Am Decorating!" Peter and I were both surprised that he was saying it correctly, and that he was so excited to put the decorations on the tree. His idea of decorating was to put every ornament on the same branch. Anyways.... So, I got the camera out and wanted him to say it again so we would have proof of our little ones genious and well....this is what we got.
Don't you love our Charlie Brown Christmas tree?

Thanksgiving Turkey

This year Peter and I were in charge of cooking the Thanksgiving Turkey. This is how we transported it in the car....hmmmm is that sanitary? Of course it was wrapped in foil! It was scrumdidliumptious! Brining a turkey takes alot of time, but is totally worth it. It was sooooo yummy.

Sous Chef

Jacob is becoming a big helper in the kitchen. He loves to help pour, sprinkle, and even nibble every now and then!

Halloween Party

I don't know who had more fun Jake or Peter. The dry iced rootbeer and funky food was enough for one night.

Barnyard Boo

Thanksgiving Point had great Halloween activities at Barnyard Boo. We went on a wagon ride and Jake saw a big scary monster, that was meant for the older kids and had to do his imitation of it.

When Jake saw this gnarly looking cat he had to pull its tail of course! It actually made a sound and startled us but he kept pulling the cats tail anyways!
And last but not least....Jake rode this pony ( was it three or four times? I can't remember) and loved every minute of it.

Pumpkin Time

Jake was not sure what to think about sticking his hand in the gooey mess but finally did and had a trepedatious time of it. He liked using the spoon better than using his hands.

Playing in the leaves was sooooo much fun for Peter and lil Jake. Even though the leaves were wet they couldn't help but jump and slide and hide in the big pile of leaves.

Bob the Builder

Jake was Bob the Builder for Halloween. But he kept calling himself Gampa. Grandpa has a goatee and always has tools. So of course he was Gampa.

BEDTIIIIIIE

When it's bedtime Peter can just give Jake a look and Jake knows what it means and yells "BEDTIIIIIIIIIIE!" He is usually very good about bedtime and doesn't have much trouble going to sleep by himself if he has his three main staples; blankie-milk and pwiwoh(pillow) that he now calls his "pillow pet" because he has seen the commercial of the pillow that is a pet, it's a pillow pet! In other words a stuffed animal that turns into a pillow for only $20!
He did have some trouble going to sleep for about a week. He was terrified of being in his bed and his only comfort was that he felt it was safe behind the door. So we let him fall asleep there and put him in his bed after he fell asleep. Finally he told us that he was scared of the shark that was going to get him. What could we do but kill off the shark and make it safe again for him. The killing of the shark consisted of giving Jake a foam sword that makes a "chink" sound and spraying lavender "shark killing spray" around the room. For the most part that did the trick and he was fine in his own bed. The occassional sighting of the great white is now turned into a rational mentioning that there are "no more sharks, they are all gone," with a shrug of the shoulders and upturned hand, and he is fine with it. Such a reasonable child.
The culprit? Monsters Inc. which has been banned from this household. At least for awhile until he can handle the monsters coming through doors bit. Maybe not until he's twenty? What do you think?

Bike Time

Jake loves this little trike. It's actually his friend Michaels' who let's him use it.

We had a good time playing and running through the leaves.
He always gets in his "ready" stance and says, "mark....GO!"

Jake always wants me to chase him, but this time he was chasing me!
